Our "Vitamins D(ance)"

Through small and large initiatives, carried out alone or in partnership with other organizations, we imagine little supplements that make all the difference. Personalized support, practical adaptations and collaborations help remove the obstacles that prevent some people from participating and make dance truly accessible to everyone.

Among these initiatives:

- individual mentoring by a young facilitator when a child with a disability wishes to join our regular workshops ;
- afro dance workshops with live percussion and sign language interpretation for deaf / hard of hearing people ;
- a dance workshop organized in collaboration with the asbl La Lumière, intended for visually impaired people ;
- creation processes conducted in partnership with Article 27, to promote access to artistic practice for people in precarious situations.

Each project is a vitamin: a concrete way to allow everyone to overcome the obstacles that separate them from dance.

Special Ball, Art 27 and Liège Festival

Special Ball and several young dancers are involved in a project in collaboration with two day centers welcoming adults with disabilities.

A process of meetings, dance and creation that will result in two presentations: December 20 at Caserne Fonck, then in February 2027 as part of the Liège Festival.

The Eye and the Ear

A week to enter the world of the other

Special Ball and La Lumière ASBL invite 12 young people to experience a week of dance, sounds and encounters, from April 26 to 30, 2027.

Six young people aged 12 to 14 with visual disabilities and six young people from Special Ball will spend five days together.

What one sees, the other may hear.
What one hears, the other does not always perceive in the same way.

The idea of this week is simple: each person invites the other to enter their comfort zone.

The young people from Special Ball will share their world of dance: moving together, feeling bodies and space, improvising, creating and daring to dance.

In turn, the young people with visual disabilities will invite others to discover a world where listening takes on another dimension: sounds that are more present, more precise, details that one may no longer hear when accustomed to watching.

For a week, we will dance, listen, search, guide each other, surprise ourselves and create together.

It is not about doing things for the other, but with the other.
To discover what each person knows, what each person can share and what we can invent when our different ways of perceiving the world meet.
