Bal Spécial is a dance platform born from a simple conviction: dance does not belong only to theaters. It belongs to life. It teaches us to listen, to feel, to take our place, to make room for others.
The word "BAL" symbolizes everything that makes us who we are: the body, emotions, movement, rhythm, music, senses, intelligence, creativity and our connections with others and the world. It also evokes the ball, that festive moment where we come together, where we dance, where we share and where everyone who wants to dance is welcome.
"SPECIAL" is a word used to describe something unique. What society perceives as "special" is often proof of the courage to be oneself, to embrace one's uniqueness and to dare to take unconventional paths. These unknown paths are the very essence of artistic practice.
For us, dance is first and foremost a source of life, communication and sharing. It is a tool for growth, learning to live together, discovering life, imagining and realizing projects, developing the perseverance and discipline needed to see your ideas through, without ignoring the importance of technique.
In this approach, the performance is a precious pretext: what matters above all is the journey taken, the meetings and transformations it makes possible.

Training courses
Bal Spécial is recognized as a Centre for Expression and Creativity (CEC) by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation since 2016.
In 2026-2027, Special Ball offers around twenty dance workshops for children from age 3 (accompanied by an adult), adolescents and adults. Most workshops take place weekly, while some are held once a month.
Projects emerge in different ways. Some respond to requests from other organizations, others to the desire of young people to engage through dance. Sometimes current events push us to act, or a call for projects becomes the starting point for a new artistic, educational and civic adventure.
Like mountaineers, « Our Bodies-Dés » brings together Special Ball's initiatives that make dance and artistic creation accessible to those who do not spontaneously find their way to cultural practices or who need special support to participate, collectively.
Special Ball regularly develops dance projects in partnership with schools.
In collaboration with B3, a project was designed to awaken the pleasure of reading through dance.
With PECA, dance becomes a tool to explore mathematics in a creative and sensory way.

A participatory project, easily adaptable to your event, whether it's a festival, a school, a cultural center or any other venue. Each intervention is designed on a made-to-measure basis, according to your objectives, your audience and your possibilities..
Special Ball now feels the need to have its own space. A vibrant venue that we can use during the day and open to audiences we cannot currently welcome,
This space will also give us room to rehearse, prepare our creations, develop new projects and grow our work on a daily basis.
Regularly, Special Ball shares its pedagogical approach through training courses for dancers, teachers, educators, librarians and anyone wishing to develop a creative approach to dance with children. You will find here the upcoming training courses offered by Special Ball, as well as those organized by colleagues and partners who, like us, work to professionalize the field of dance and childhood.
