Special Ball is a dance platform born from a simple conviction: contemporary dance does not belong only to theaters, it belongs to life. It teaches us to listen, feel, take our place and make room for others. The word BALL evokes the body, emotions, movement, creativity and the pleasure of being together. Like a ball, it is a space where everyone is welcome. SPECIAL celebrates uniqueness. What is called "special" is often the courage to be oneself and to take different paths, at the heart of any artistic endeavor. For us, dance is a tool to grow, create connection, imagine, persevere and live together. The show is not an end in itself, but a pretext: what matters most is the journey traveled and the transformations it makes possible.
Special Ball offers:
Weekly dance workshops (children, youth and adults)
Workshops and projects
Projects with schools
Parent-child workshops
Projects on demand from other organizations
Training courses
Special Ball has been recognized as a Center for Expression and Creativity (CEC) by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation since 2016.
In 2026-2027, Special Ball offers around twenty dance workshops for children from age 3 (accompanied by an adult), teenagers and adults. Most workshops take place weekly, while some are held once a month.
Projects arise in different ways. Some respond to requests from other organizations, others from the desire of young people to engage through dance. Sometimes current events push us to act, or a call for projects becomes the starting point for a new artistic, educational and civic adventure.
Our "Dance Vitamins" bring together Special Ball initiatives that make dance and artistic creation accessible to those who do not spontaneously find their way to cultural practices, or who need particular support to participate collectively.
Special Ball regularly develops dance projects in partnership with schools.
In collaboration with B3, a project was designed to awaken the pleasure of reading through dance.
With PECA, dance becomes a tool to explore mathematics in a creative and sensory way.
A contagious project available for your events.
A graphic designer who dances and a dancer who draws… Together, they invite young and old to enter into movement in a playful, creative and accessible way.
A participatory project, easily adaptable to your event, whether it is a festival, school, cultural center or any other venue. Each intervention is designed on a custom basis, according to your objectives, your audience and your possibilities..
Special Ball currently feels the need to have its own space. A living space that we can use during the day and open to audiences we cannot currently welcome,
This space will also give us room to rehearse, prepare our creations, develop our new projects and grow our work daily.
The Brossery could also become a place for new partnerships with other organizations in the future.
Regularly, Special Ball shares its pedagogical approach through training for dancers, teachers, educators, librarians and anyone wishing to develop a creative approach to dance with children. You will find here the upcoming training courses offered by Special Ball, as well as those organized by colleagues and partners who, like us, work to professionalize work around dance and childhood.
